Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens directly in your browser using Canvas 2D APIs. Your files never leave your device.
What kinds of images work best?
Product photos, studio shots, and portraits with solid or uniform backgrounds — like white backdrops, green screens, or plain walls. It works less well on busy or complex backgrounds.
What if the auto-detected color is wrong?
Click Pick from image and then click on any pixel of the background to set the key color manually. Then fine-tune with the tolerance slider.
How is this so fast?
It uses chroma key detection — a pure math operation that samples edge pixels to find the dominant background color. There's no neural network, no WebAssembly download, and no GPU requirement, so it runs in milliseconds.
Can I edit the result after removal?
Yes. Use the Restore brush to bring back accidentally removed areas, or the Erase brush to remove leftover background. Brush size and zoom are adjustable, and you can undo/redo changes.
